WHO WE ARE

IT braians for inforfuture Adding new value and a competitive edge to your business through the fusion of IT strategy and process.

*IT BRAINS

Because of the swift evolution of IT, a thorough knowledge of both industry and business, practical knowledge about IT utilization, and the skills to draft new business models and processes based on them are indispensable if we are to solve our customer's management issues and business issues.

We define experts with these knowledge and skills as “IT Brains”, and they comprise each of our project teams to support the preparation of strategies from implementation to success for our customers.

*Info-Future

“Information” is the major driving force behind the future developments lined up for the 21st century.
“Info-Future” defines the 21st century itself, and expresses our wish to live rich and fulfilling lives with our customers during this era.

VIEWPOINT

“Management”-“Business Process”-“IT” Taking value-added action from the perspective of overall optimization.

The purpose of management is to establish the fundamentals for future growth as well as honing our competitive edge, while coping with environmental changes.

Strategy, business process, and IT are all important elements in achieving the purpose, but the satisfactory results cannot be obtained if we individually optimize each element.

Grasping the total picture in our search for the optimal overall results viewing both the group companies and ourselves is indispensable for IT planning and development, as well as reviewing the strategy and business process. For example, when a customer has an issue regarding as the “promotion of computerization”, we firstly analyze the business environment and determine the most suitable strategy for that.

Based on our determination, we draw up specific business and IT models, and set out to develop value-added action from the perspective of comprehensive optimization.

SERVICE DOMAINS

issues are industry-specific, others are common to all.

Enhanced business efficiency, IT governance, profitability, and competitiveness. Our menu of services affords a perceptible contribution to customers.

Certain operations and issues are characteristic and different per industry. Therefore, needless to say, careful handling by using professional knowledge is a prerequisite. On the other hand, some issues are common across industries, such as reinforcement of governance, IT management, and utilization of human resources. We have constructed a professional group with expertise primarily across three industries and six functions. Accordingly, experts in each area cooperate with one another on a per project basis, in order to provide the optimal consultation service to customers.

POLICIES

Cooperation among consultants who have various backgrounds to achieve the optimal solution.

Our expert consultants who have an experience in a specialized field boast plenty of skills, ranging from strategy consulting firms, think tanks, IT, manufacturing, finance, and central government.

We offer intellectual services to produce our customer's sustainable success by integrating the specific professional capabilities accumulated individually by each consultant based on a common policy for resolving issues.

Client First

Our fundamental consultative stance is “Client First”, in other words, the customer's business success is the primary goal.

Accordingly, we seek to derive the optimal practical solution for customers through a thorough understanding of the customer's true needs, analyzing the root of the issue, and framing a hypothesis as external experts from the point of view of central and objective without focusing on a “common brief” or defaulting to a popular solution.

Zero-base Approach

In order to achieve the customer's real aims, our issue clarification and approach method that is typically unexpected by the customer usually proves effective. Not only reacting carefully to customer requests, we also set out to identify problems from “zero base” in cooperation with the customers, and then reset the issues and approach with their understanding and consent. We believe that this “customer-allied process of discovery” is crucial to each project's success.

Practical Framework

There are always a number of interrelated factors involved in the issues the customers confront. However, focusing on just one in isolation is wholly insufficient in terms of viewing the overall problem from a three-dimensional perspective. A practical framework for highlighting all the included problems is required. In particular, in many cases a new framework that includes especially an IT utilization factor must be newly developed. We develop new analysis and planning frameworks per project by fusing the construction skills and business experience of our varied human resources, then collate and share those experiences as new expertise after implementation.

These days, the requirements of corporate management are becoming increasingly sophisticated and complex. The trend toward globalization of activities induced by the spread of the Internet is now firmly rooted. The world economy is becoming even more multipolar and has entered the age of truly global competition. Companies are being faced with an unprecedented diversity of issues, and must make swift decisions regarding each on a continuous basis.

In Japan in particular, the Great East Japan Earthquake that struck on March 11, 2011 has left deep scars not only on the domestic industry but also on our souls, and we send our sympathy from the bottom of our heart to everyone who has been suffered this disaster. It has confronted us with the enormous socioeconomic question of how to achieve recovery from these unprecedented difficulties and aspire to a new round of growth. The situation demands the formulation of a new vision or path for surmounting the disaster.

We at NTT DATA INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT CONSULTING, INC. have long assisted other firms with programs of innovation levered by IT in all areas from corporate founding and business process reengineering to environmental problems and human resource development. Our clients are seeking socioeconomic recovery from the slump caused by the disaster and a new phase of advancement in their business. Our consultants shall make effective use of the know-how they have acquired in their endeavors as promoters of innovation themselves, strive to always view things from the perspective of their clients, and do their best to help clients in problem-solving efforts.

Ten years have already passed since the start of the 21st century. The realization that today's world is being drawn into a macro current that differs from the 20th century is only getting keener. This is because the world economy is in the midst of structural transformation that could even be likened to a crustal change driven by the trends of globalization and information-communications technology (ICT) innovation, and creative destruction is under way all around us. Things that are out of step with the tone of the times or have gotten old and finished the role they played in their time are being dismantled and disappearing. Meanwhile, we are seeing the birth and growth of things that capture the temper of the times and anticipate the dawning age. In the 21st century, metabolic change for replacement of the old with the new is the normal state of affairs. As a result, those who adhere to past values, methodologies, and experiences of success will find they have fallen behind the times. This is an ironclad rule for survival facing government, businesses, and individuals in common.

Ever since our foundation in April 1991, at the start of the final decade of the 20th century, we have proposed initiatives on the practical level for specific operational and business strategies aimed at enabling corporate and governmental organizations to meet the wants and needs of the new age both surely and swiftly. These management consulting activities of ours are based on IT, which is becoming a kind of fundamental literacy for management and organizational operation attuned to the 21st century. To overcome the global economic crisis, Japanese companies and administrative authorities must construct strategies to place all the possibilities of the 21st century at their command. Nothing would give us greater pleasure than to take a hand in providing genuinely friendly yet effective support for this task through our IT-based consulting services.
